Nowadays, it is possible to note a growing interest in the digital humanities in Brazil. The diverse digital uses and methods applied to humanist questions are here to stay, at the same time that our society and its social, political, cultural, socioeconomic, identitary, gender, anthropological, among other phenomena are increasingly mediated by the digital, thus marking a new particular era.

This issue brings original articles that contain inter and transdisciplinary dialogues, with the main focus on the digital humanities, in articulation with archival science and the information science. This dossier is edited by Ricardo M. Pimenta, doctor in Social Memory by the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Unirio), researcher of the Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (Ibict) and professor of the Graduate Program in Information Science do partnership Ibict/Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ); and Moisés Rockembach, doctor in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms by the Universidade do Porto/Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal), professor of the Department of Information Sciences and of the Graduate Programs in Information Science and Communication of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
