Drawing on the framework of materialist discourse analysis and the history of linguistic ideas, we consider the archive as a product of socially and historically determined interpretive gestures. Following Costa’s proposal (2023) regarding the constitution of networked archives, we report on the process of assembling the Said Ali Archive, developed as part of the Arquivo de Saberes Linguísticos project (ILE-Uerj), and provide a preview of the catalog under construction.
