This article presents the Graziela Maciel Barroso Archive, which is deposited at the Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, and discusses its potential and limits as a keeper of memories and a source for academic research, especially in History of Education and Women’s History. Its owner was a Brazilian professor and Botany researcher who lived between 1912 and 2003.
