The article presents a history of the Brazilian section of the Inter-American Council of Commerce and Production (Cicyp). It also demonstrates the importance of the documentation produced by this organization, stored at the Arquivo Nacional [Brazilian National Archives], for the study of the political action of Brazilian businessmen between the 1940s and the 1970s.
