The article approaches three photographic practices that contribute for the understanding of the visual History in the South of Brazil: the collections of the Beck family, Eduardo Jaunsem and Virgílio Calegari. The practices are elements of a visual culture, unfolded in meaningful moments of the photographic production. They are made up of true archeologies of these photographers, revealing their techniques, arts and crafts.
